This is based off a picture I took a while ago at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
I really like drawing jellyfish because it’s a fun challenge in blending colors and really, making something look jelly-like XD I’m usually pretty fond of the sketchy brushes, but I think jellyfish look best in a more gouache look 😛 🙂
I also tried realllyyy hard to not use the eyedropper tool from my reference picture. It’s hard to resist, but in the long run it should help my coloring in general ^_^ 😀
Every once in a while when I watch a nature documentary, I realized that I tend to “root”(?) for whatever animal the documentary is about. My dad and I were talking and I said that if I was shooting a nature documentary, I would find it hard to not step in and rescue the animal in question, and then came up with this idea for a comic 😛 🙂
I hope you like it! This one took soooo long. I used to be pretty skeptical at poorly-drawn web comics but now I can understand why their drawings are so simple XD I think the funnest part about this was getting to draw the fox… i used a few different references for the poses and I think they all turned out pretty good ^-^
I tried scanning again and this is the result ^-^ I’m super happy with how it turned out, both the drawing and scanning it 😛 🙂
(If you’re having problems scanning art stuff, try putting a few heavy books on top of it XD )
So I drew a hummingbird a little while ago and gave it to my Grandma as a gift, and my aunt saw it and was wondering if I could draw her a hummingbird too 🙂
This is an Anna’s Hummingbird, which is native to the west coast 😀
( I used this and this for reference 🙂 )
I think these feathers look pretty cool (despite the fact that the rooster’s face looks like a deer in headlights lol XD) 😀
I drew this yesterday kind of late, so I didn’t get to upload it until today 😛 🙂 It’s a Thunderbird from Fantastic Beasts!
I decided to add a little color in this one 🙂 The shell was really fun to draw, and the texture on the skin was interesting to do, too 😀
Day two of Inktober! ヽ(^o^)ノ
I visited the aquarium a few days ago and there were some Nautiluses on display! These are pretty weird cephalopods, kind of a mix between an octopus and a snail! XD
I decided to leave it uncolored, and tried out a new stippling technique for shading 😛 🙂
